All of us will be affected by the transition to a #netzero economy, but some will be impacted by this process more heavily. Therefore, we need a discussion about JUST TRANSITION.
I had the pleasure of being the host and moderator of the international conference organized by KOZK / NCCC tackling the issues of just and fair transition. This endeavor gave me an opportunity to learn more about the upcoming changes.

My key takeaways:
- We cannot look at Just Transition only in terms of paying for the closure of coal mines with grants to the affected regions. Redistribution of money will not suffice
- Skills and labor market capital is the key. We need to retrain to retain the human capital, redirect the workforce towards new directions
- Postindustrial areas should find a new life, consider brownfield investments, land reclamation, and repurchasing
